VVI in the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV

Introduction

From November 25 to December 10, 2024, Voices and Visuals Initiative (VVI) joined the world in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. Our focus? Using visual storytelling to challenge harmful norms and raise awareness.

Animated Video Development

VVI produced an animated video aligned with the theme "UNiTE to End Violence against Women and Girls", sharing emotional stories of survivors and sparking national conversations.

Community Engagement

We held interactive workshops and screenings across Uganda, sparking deep discussions and offering survivors a platform to share, heal, and connect with services.

Impact & Reach

🎥 Over 1,000 views in the first week.
📢 Strengthened partnerships with local allies and community leaders.
💬 Increased awareness and support for GBV survivors.

Conclusion

Through vibrant visuals, community engagement, and the bold voices of survivors, VVI's contribution to the 16 Days of Activism became a beacon of hope, pushing forward a Uganda free from GBV.
